Imam AbdurRahman Adesokan

Shaykh AbdurRahman is the resident Imam of Masjid ul Mumineen. He was born in Nigeria but educated in Nigeria, Sudan and Egypt.

He started his educational career from the Arabic Institute of Nigeria. He attended Islamic African Center in Sudan, now International Islamic African University where he obtained a High School Certificate in Arabic and Islamic studies between 1982-1985. He obtained his BA in Public Relations from the Faculty of Arabic Language at the prestigious Al-Azhar University of Cairo where he was enrolled as a student from 1987 through 1991.

He returned to Nigeria to work on a Masters degree in Arabic and Islamic Studies at University of Ibadan, Nigeria from 1995 through 1997. He relocated to Houston in February 1998 to assume duties as the Imam of Masjid ul Mumineen. He is an active member of the community and belongs to the Islamic Society of Greater Houston (ISGH) as well as the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA).

As the Imam of Masjid ul Mumineen - he leads, supports and actively participates in all the initiatives such as Mumineen Foundation Inc. and Mumineen Relief Project Inc. Imam AbdurRahman is currently pursuing a doctorate program from the International Islamic University of Malaysia.
